Lockeridge Farms is set up as a nonprofit corporate entity and we are an organization established to manage a private, planned community. Like other corporations, the Home Owners Association (HOA) is governed by 1) a set of rules called bylaws and 2) a board of directors who are elected by our 188 HOA member residents. The bylaws govern how our HOA operates and contain the information needed to run our HOA as a business. For example, the bylaws cover matters such as:
- How often the HOA (188 residents) holds meetings
- How the meetings are conducted
- The duties of the various offices of the board of directors
- How many people are on the board of directors
- Membership voting rights, and
- Renter limitations
Every Lockeridge Farms resident (HOA Member) has responsibility and duty to understand the DCC&Rs (Deed Restrictions), the Bylaws, and the Additional Dedicatory Instruments so that we all comply with neighborhood restrictions, understand how our community operates, and above all, preserve our property values.
